This hotel is a mixed bag. The lobby is a bit like a warm, cozy mountain lodge with a gas fireplace and comfortable leather arm chairs and sofas. There is convenient parking right in front of the hotel, and the beds are comfortable. Best of all, the staff is very friendly and helpful. And the price is low - but there’s a reason. The rooms are a bit dated and were also missing the normal things you would find in a budget Marriott or Hampton Inn. For example, we had a refrigerator in the room but it made a constant noise and there were no cell phone charging outlets on the nightstand between the beds. The bedspreads were brown which, not only looked depressing, but they kind of creeped me out because I wondered what they were trying to hide and how often they were washed. We had a TV but trying to change a channel was nearly impossible. Plus the remote control batteries were dead and, when we asked for a new one, we were told they had been replacing them all evening and would have to go looking for one in somebody else’s room (which took an hour). They had to come to the room twice. We finally gave up trying to watch TV. There was no magnifying mirror and they’re very limited with linens distributions. They gave us a tiny little bottle of shampoo that was good for only one person and there was no lotion. The spartan breakfast did not look appealing, so we didn't eat there. But it felt like a safe place and the price was low and the staff was helpful. So, you decide what's most important to you.
